Activity of the reserve museum is quite complex and many-sided. One of the main problems which any reserve museum faces and, in particular object of the World heritage is today a complexity of tasks which it has to carry out, in relation to modern society: preservation of integrity and pristineness of objects of heritage, and also ensuring access for general public: that the public realized the true value of these objects, and there was a wide exchange of knowledge.

The complex of archaeological sites, in combination with landscape the cultural landscape of Tamgaly has the difficult structure including numerous and burial grounds occurring at different times, altars, stone quarries and, of course, rock drawings which main congestions mark sanctuaries occurring at different times. Petroglyphs were carved out on the rocks covered with a black patina since the Middle Bronze Age (the middle of the II millennia BC), were continued in the Early Iron Age (the I millennia BC), and also in the Middle Ages (the VII-XII centuries AD) and in the Late Middle Ages (during the ethnographic period). Many ancient drawings were renewed and supplemented during the subsequent latest periods. Thereby, the complex of the Tamgaly includes both natural and cultural landscape, the historical and cultural and natural heritage including all set of sites.

Staff of the museum will organize various excursions not only on a unique sanctuary, but also on nearby complexes, excursion routes according to medieval Turkic petroglyphs are developed.
