From April 25 to 27, a field school titled “Digital Methods for Documenting and Studying Petroglyphs” was held at the “Taңбалы” State Historical, Cultural and Natural Museum-Reserve.
The event brought together students and scholars from Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Russia, and Kyrgyzstan.
The sessions were conducted by specialists in digital archaeology from the D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University.
During the practicum, each participant carried out photogrammetric documentation of petroglyphs and created 3D surface models.
The program also featured an intensive exchange of experience in applying digital technologies to the study of various types of ancient visual monuments.
