International Conference within the “Tanbaly: Code of Ancestors” Exhibition

On April 2, 2026, an international conference titled “Presenting Rock Art without Display Cases: Modern Approaches to Interpretation and Promotion of Petroglyphs” was held at the A. Kasteev State Museum of Arts of the Republic of Kazakhstan as part of the international exhibition “Tanbaly: Code of Ancestors.”

In the second part of the exhibition, foreign scholars, museum professionals, and experts gathered to discuss how petroglyphs can be preserved and widely promoted using modern technologies.

Presentations were delivered by V.A. Novozhenov, Vladislav Kim, Jean-Marc Deom (Belgium), Krym Kasenkhanovich Altynbekov, Favzil Malikov (Russia, Bashkortostan), Bayan Kospenbetova, and Olga Gumirova.

The event aimed to explore new opportunities for presenting rock art without display cases — in a dynamic and innovative format.
