“Sarybulak — Tamgaly under UNESCO Supervision”

   On September 10, 2025, UNESCO Regional Representative for Culture Philippe Delange paid an official visit to the Sarybulak landscape and cultural area. The visit was organized by Bibigul Dandygaraeva, Director of the “Tanbaly” Museum-Reserve, who introduced the guest to the territory where archaeological research is currently underway.

The meeting was also attended by archaeologist and Tanbaly petroglyph specialist Alexey Rogozhinsky, researchers of the “Sarybulak–2025” archaeological expedition, staff of the “Tanbaly” Museum-Reserve, and Guillaume Dubuis, representative of DUALEST SAS.

• During the visit, the first results of the archaeological research were presented, and discussions were held on the historical and cultural significance of Sarybulak and the issues of its preservation.
• Experts highlighted the importance of international cooperation, heritage conservation, and community engagement.
• This visit marked an important step in promoting Sarybulak and Tamgaly as shared cultural heritage at the international level.
