A Comprehensive Museum Lesson “The History of Tanbaly Stones” Was Held

On July 15, 2026, a comprehensive museum lesson entitled “The History of Tanbaly Stones” was held for participants of the zhyr-terme traditional poetry club organized in the Zhambyl District of Almaty Region.
During the event, Zhybek Bashekuly, a staff member of the “Tanbaly” State Historical-Cultural and Natural Museum-Reserve and a renowned traditional singer, provided participants with detailed information about the historical and cultural significance of the museum-reserve, the distinctive features of the Tanbaly petroglyphs inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, and their place in human culture.
During the lesson, the teenagers learned that a unique historical and cultural monument of global significance is located in their native region and attracts tourists from near and far abroad every year. The lecture also highlighted the importance of protecting the region’s rich natural heritage and archaeological monuments, promoting national values, and fostering respect for historical and cultural heritage.
