Tanbaly Museum-Reserve Presented a Traveling Exhibition at the “Kymyzmuryndyk – 2026” Festival

On 27 June 2026, the Tanbaly State Historical, Cultural and Natural Museum-Reserve presented its traveling exhibition, “Rock Art – Humanity’s Earliest Works of Art,” as part of the Kymyzmuryndyk – 2026 cultural and sports festival held at the Karkara summer pasture in the Kegen District of Almaty Region.

The main purpose of the exhibition was to promote the historical and cultural heritage of the Tanbaly archaeological complex, introduce visitors to the distinctive features of ancient rock art, and encourage young people’s interest in national history and cultural heritage.

During the exhibition, visitors learned about the unique petroglyphs of Tanbaly, their historical significance, and the outstanding universal value of the site as a UNESCO World Heritage property.
